Astrocartographyyour chart, laid over the map

Your birth chart doesn't stop at who you are, it also maps where each part of your life is most supported on Earth. Astrocartography draws your planetary lines across the world, so a move, a trip or a "why does this city feel like home?" finally has an answer. Everything I know about reading the map, after 25+ years of charts, is on this page: every line explained, my clear guides, and the readings where I do it for you.

What astrocartography actually is

When you were born, every planet stood at a precise angle to the place you arrived in. Astrocartography (also called locational astrology) recalculates those angles for every point on the planet, producing a personal world map crossed by lines: your Sun line, Moon line, Venus line and so on. Living on or near a line turns that planet's volume up in your daily life; the same person can feel invisible in one city and unmistakably themselves in another.

The map doesn't flatter, but it isn't simple either. Lines have flavors, angles (AC, DC, MC and IC), and crossings that change everything about how a place will treat you. A free calculator can draw your lines; knowing what they'll actually do to your mornings takes longer, start with the ultimate guide, or my real answer to "is astrocartography accurate?"

"People expect the map to tell them where to move. What it really does is explain what each place will ask of you, and what it will give back. That's the difference between chasing a line and choosing a life."

These aren't separate articles, they're one path, and the ten line guides above are its middle chapters. Start at the stage you're in; every guide ends with your next question, so you can simply keep reading.

Relocation Astrology vs Astrocartography: What's the Difference?

They get used interchangeably, and they shouldn't be: astrocartography draws your chart across a world map, while relocation astrology recasts your whole chart for one specific city. Two sister techniques, two different questions, here is how each works, where each one shines, and why the best relocation decisions use both.

Astrocartography, answered

What is astrocartography?
Astrocartography is your birth chart projected onto a map of the world. For every place on Earth it shows which of your planets would be emphasized if you lived there, drawn as lines for the Sun, Moon, Venus, Jupiter and the rest. On or near a line, that planet's themes get louder in your daily life: a Venus line softens and connects, a Saturn line demands and builds. It's used for choosing where to live, planning meaningful travel, and understanding why certain places have always felt different to you.
Is astrocartography accurate?
In my experience, 25+ years of reading maps against real lives, the lines describe the flavor of a place remarkably well, but they never decide for you. A line is a weather report, not a verdict: it tells you what a place will amplify, and you still choose what to do with that. I've written a plain, no-hype answer in my guide "Is Astrocartography Accurate?", including where the map really helps and where people expect too much of it.
Can't I just use a free astrocartography calculator?
You can, and it's a fine place to start, a calculator will draw your lines correctly. What it can't do is weigh them: how strong each line is in your particular chart, how the angles change its meaning, what happens where lines cross, and how it all fits the question you're actually asking. That judgment is the reading. My guide comparing free maps to a personal reading walks through exactly what the calculator misses.
Do I need my exact birth time?
For astrocartography, yes, it matters more than for almost any other kind of astrology. Your lines are calculated from the angles of your chart, and those shift quickly with the clock: even 15 to 20 minutes can slide a line by hundreds of miles. Your birth certificate is the best source. If you can't find your time, write to me before booking and we'll see what's still possible together.
How much does an astrocartography reading cost?
My map-based readings run from $130 for a focused reading to $999 for the deepest two-person relocation work, each one a personal written PDF delivered by email, with a free follow-up question included. The full lineup is right on this page, and my pricing guide breaks down what the wider market charges so you can compare fairly.
