Peace Oracle Belline card meaning

Peace, printed as La Paix, is card 26 of 53 in the Oracle Belline, in the Venus series. Peace is Venus as harmony, after tension has eased. It invites you to look for calm in a relationship or within yourself.

Context and symbolism

What Peace is about

Peace is a Venus card showing a bundle of rods tied together with a ribbon, with an axe resting against them. It's a sort of 'weapons laid down' image. Venus is about harmony and love, so in the Belline this card is about calm after tension, reconciliation, and settling things kindly. The bundle of rods tied together is an old symbol of strength in unity. Put down next to an axe, it suggests that the fight is over and the group is holding together. That's peace you build, not just peace you hope for.

In everyday life

Peace turns up when there's been conflict and things could ease. It's also about inner peace, finding calm when your mind is busy. Peace doesn't always mean everyone agrees. Sometimes it just means you've stopped fighting about something and decided to live alongside the difference. That can be really freeing. You don't have to win every argument to feel settled. And if peace with someone else isn't possible right now, you can still make peace with how you've handled it, and let that be enough for today.

  • 26. Peace

Maybe you had a row with your sibling and you've both been stubborn. A simple 'I'm sorry it got heated' message might open the door again.

  • 26. Peace

Or your head's been loud all week, full of lists and replays of old conversations. Ten minutes of slow breathing before bed could help you settle.

Love, work and money

Peace in the main areas of life

In love and relationships

In love, Peace is about harmony and reconciliation. It asks where calm could return after tension. For example, if you and your partner had a fight that never quite got resolved, choose a relaxed moment to say, 'I'd like us to be okay about this.' Peace often starts with one person offering a hand.

At work and in study

At work, Peace points to calmer relations and an end to friction. Say two colleagues have been arguing and it's affecting the team. You might suggest a short, neutral conversation to clear the air. Or if you're the one in conflict, consider what small concession would cost you little and help a lot.

With money and resources

With money, Peace asks what would bring you financial calm. For example, if bills stress you out, set up direct debits so payments happen on time automatically. Or agree on a simple budget with your partner so money stops being a source of arguments.

I read Belline cards with the picture the right way up, rather than assigning a second meaning when a card is upside down. I consider its name, planetary group and any neighbouring cards together when explaining a reading.

Things to try today

  • If there's someone you're at odds with, think about one small gesture that could ease things.
  • Spend ten minutes doing something calming, like a walk, breathing or a cup of tea in silence.
  • Ask yourself if you're keeping the peace honestly, or avoiding something that needs saying.

Where could I choose peace today, and where is calm being used to avoid something important?
