News Oracle Belline card meaning
News, printed as Nouvelle, is card 24 of 53 in the Oracle Belline, in the Mercury series. News ends Mercury's series with messages arriving and departing. It asks how you take in information, and how carefully you pass it on.
What News is about
News closes the Mercury family. Its printed title is 'nouvelle', and the picture shows a little star and a dove flying in with a message. Mercury is the messenger of the gods, so this card is all about communication: news, letters, calls, information arriving. It doesn't tell you what the news is. It just turns your attention to how messages are moving in your life. The dove carrying a message is an old symbol of good tidings, but in this card it's more about the act of communication than the content. Messages fly in and out of your life all day. This card asks you to pay attention to them.
In everyday life
The News card is about staying in touch and handling information well. It might also be about being the one who shares news, clearly and kindly. Information moves so fast these days that it's easy to get overwhelmed. Part of this card is about choosing what news you let in. Maybe that means checking the headlines once instead of all day, or muting a group chat that's stressing you out. Your attention is worth protecting.
24. News Maybe you've been waiting to hear back about something and checking your phone every five minutes. Setting two check-in times might help you breathe.
24. News Or you've got news of your own to share and you're nervous. You could work out who should hear it first and how.
News in the main areas of life
In love and relationships
In love, News is about messages: a call you've been waiting for, a conversation that needs to happen, or information shared. For example, if you've been waiting for someone to text first, ask yourself whether you could simply send the message. News can travel both ways.
At work and in study
At work, News points to information arriving: an email, an announcement, feedback. Say you're expecting results from an interview. Prepare for either answer so you can respond calmly. It also asks whether you're sharing news well with your team, clearly and on time.
With money and resources
With money, News can mean a letter about bills, a statement, or a price change. For example, if you've been avoiding opening post from the bank, open it today. Most news is easier to handle once you know what it says. Avoiding it rarely makes it smaller.
I read Belline cards with the picture the right way up, rather than assigning a second meaning when a card is upside down. I consider its name, planetary group and any neighbouring cards together when explaining a reading.
Things to try today
- Reply to one message you've been leaving on read.
- If you're waiting on news, pick one useful thing to do in the meantime.
- Check that someone who needs to hear from you actually has.
What information am I acting on, and have I checked it properly?
