The Heart Lenormand card meaning

The Heart, printed as Das Herz, is card 24 of 36 in the Lenormand. The Heart is simple affection: love, warmth and the things you genuinely care about. It asks where your heart actually is, not where you think it should be.

Context and symbolism

What The Heart is about

The Heart is card 24, and Hechtel's picture is simply a heart. It's one of the most straightforward cards in the deck. In the Lenormand, the Heart is about love, affection, warmth and emotional connection. It covers romantic love but also kindness, compassion and what you truly care about. Its playing-card inset is the Jack of Hearts. It's a card that asks you to lead with feeling.

In everyday life

The Heart invites you to notice what and who you love, and to show it. It's also about being kind to yourself and following what genuinely matters to you. It doesn't tell you how anyone else feels. It's about your own heart and what you do with it. Small acts of love tend to add up into a warmer life. The Heart is also about what you really care about, beyond romance. Your passions, your causes, the people and things that light you up. Spending more time on those, even in small ways, tends to make life feel richer and more like your own. When your days are full of things you don't care about, it shows.

  • 24. The Heart

Maybe you love your partner but you've both been in survival mode. A handwritten note or a favourite meal could bring a bit of warmth back.

  • 24. The Heart

Or you've been doing a job you don't care about for ages. Spending an evening on something you do care about, even as a hobby, could feed your heart.

Love, work and money

The Heart in the main areas of life

In love and relationships

In love, the Heart is affection and warmth, what you feel and how you show it. For example, if you rarely say 'I love you' because it feels obvious, say it today. The Heart asks you to make the feeling visible, and also to notice the small ways others show their love to you.

At work and in study

At work, the Heart points to what you love about your work, and to kindness in the workplace. Say you've lost enthusiasm. Recall the part of your job that once made you happy and see whether you can do more of it. It also favours generous, warm leadership.

With money and resources

With money, the Heart asks whether your spending matches what you care about. For example, if you value time with family but spend most on things you rarely use, shift a little of the budget toward shared experiences. Money spent on what you love tends to feel well spent.

Lenormand cards are traditionally read upright. Meaning comes from the neighbouring cards, not from which way up a card lands.

Things to try today

  • Tell someone you love them, or show it with a small act.
  • Do one thing today simply because you care about it.
  • Be kind to yourself in one specific way, like rest, a treat or a kind word.

What do I genuinely love right now, and how could I make a little more room for it?
